There are many factors like mediocre Tech football, the infamous transfer portal (AKA College Athlete Free Agency) and just growing older and realizing that there are more importatnt things in life than sports. I gave up the NFL 20 years ago, the NBA back in the 1980's, MLB the past five years or so. I never watched professional soccer. I can honestly say that I don't miss any of them. I've missed more Tech football and men's basketball games in the past 2 years than I did in the 1990's and 2000's combined. "Loyalty" is what killed professional sports. I remember players staying with one team for their entire career. Now players move every few years. College basketball and football have followed the professional ranks when it comes to loyalty. I blame all parties (ownership, management, coaches, players). My grandfather and father both worked for the same company for 40+ years. Now, it's normal to have a new job every 5-10 years. Most companies/businesses aren't loyal, so why should the workers? Pretty much the same thing in sports and other entertainment. Like they say, "It is what it is."
